Can I use automatic or tunnel washes after a ceramic coating?
No. Automatic and tunnel washes use abrasive brushes that carry grit from other vehicles, and they’re notorious for stripping coatings and adding swirls. Hand washing is the way to go. Touchless washes are fine.
How soon can I drive after the coating is applied?
The coating needs time to cure and bond before the vehicle is exposed to the elements. After that you’re free to drive, though you’ll want to wait about a week before washing it. We’ll give you the exact timeline and care instructions when we finish.
How should I wash my car after a coating?
Hand wash with a gentle, pH-neutral soap and soft microfiber wash mitts, then air dry or use a clean microfiber towel. Avoid abrasive products and automatic washes. We’ll provide our recommended products after your coating is complete.
Does ceramic coating prevent rock chips and scratches?
No coating fully prevents rock chips or deeper scratches. Ceramic coating adds an invisible layer that helps against very light scratches and swirls from normal washing, but the only true protection from rock chips is paint protection film.
